Please read comments

Hi everyone,

Just wanted let you know that some very substantive discussion has taken place in the comments to my first - and key -post. I encourage you to take a few minutes and read them.

Thanks to everyone for your support. I think we're starting to see some traction.

George

I can't believe that so far there have been zero comments on this vital subject. I don't think its as straightforward as the way George sees it, e.g. what if we switch back to food crops only, produce the basic foodstuffs, and don't have the fuel to get them to the shops?
Even so I'm right behind George for his plain good sense and willingness to speak out.

I think that if you look into the fuel costs to make the ethanol, including the costs to make the fertilizer to grow the grain and then the fuel to harvest and transport the ethanol, you will find you have less fuel at the end than when you started. See the arguments made in "the Omnivore's Dilemma" . George Tesseris is not the only one alarmed by this bad policy.
